The Schema Therapy Workshops Certification Programmes are approved by the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST).

Key Components & Requirements of the Programme
Our programmes provide 2 levels of certification: Standard and Advanced. The requirements of the Certification Programme are listed below. These requirements are subject to change, depending on guidelines set by the ISST. Please also use the pages on the left (in the white area) for more information.
To date, over 50 mental health practitioners have achieved International Society of Schema Therapy accreditation in schema therapy through Schema Therapy Workshops Ltd.
STANDARD Certification
The Standard Certification Programme is suitable for all experienced mental health professionals, and is open to professionals with doctoral or master's (or equivalent) level qualifications/experience in mental health fields. Applicants should have intermediate or advanced levels of general psychotherapy experience. Please be aware that priority will be given to applicants who currently have access to personality-disordered clients or clients with significant personality disorder features. Submission of an application does not guarantee a place. Applications will be scrutinised and places subsequently allocated.
- Two intensive three-day workshops and, one, one-day workshop
- 20 hours of individual supervision, each 50 minutes in length. These may be conducted face-to-face, by telephone, or Skype (or equivalent) or via video conferencing (if equipment is available). The supervision sessions must continue for at least one year on a regular basis.
- 3 video or audio recordings of client therapy sessions, to be submitted at regular intervals, each accompanied by a completed Schema Case Conceptualisation form. The final session ratings will be scored by an independent rater other than your supervisor (arranged by Schema Therapy Workshops)
- A minimum of 2 cases treated with schema therapy, at least 25 therapy hours each. One case must have a personality disorder or have significant personality disorder features and one case must be appropriate for schema mode work due to complication, chronicity, failure to respond to treatment or relapse.
Cost: £3,690 - This includes all training, supervision and ratings of recorded sessions. It does not cover travel and overnight expenses. Payment can be spread accross 1 or 2 years.

ADVANCED Certification
The Advanced Certification Programme is suitable for all experienced mental health professionals, and is open to professionals with doctoral or master's (or equivalent) level qualifications/experience in mental health fields. Applicants should have intermediate or advanced levels of general psychotherapy experience. Please be aware that only applicants regularly working with personality-disordered clients or clients with significant personality disorder features will be considered. Submission of an application does not guarantee a place. Applications will be scrutinised and places subsequently allocated.
- Two intensive three-day workshops and one, one-day workshop
- 40 hours of individual supervision, each 50 minutes in length. These may be conducted face-to-face, by telephone, or Skype (or equivalent) or via video conferencing (if equipment is available). The supervision sessions must continue for at least one year on a regular basis.
- 6 video or audio recordings of client therapy sessions, to be submitted at regular intervals, each accompanied by a completed Schema Case Conceptualisation form. The final 2 session ratings will be scored by an independent rater other than your supervisor (arranged by Schema Therapy Workshops).
- A minimum of 4 cases treated with schema therapy, at least 25 therapy hours each: one case must have a personality disorder or have significant personality disorder features and the remainder must be appropriate for schema mode work due to complication, chronicity, failure to respond to treatment or relapse.
Cost: £5,990 - This includes all training, supervision and ratings of recorded sessions. It does not cover travel and overnight expenses. Payment can be spread accross 1 or 2 years.

Workshop 1: (3 days)
Schema Therapy - The Model, Methods & Techniques & Working with Complex Presentations including BPD
This workshop will help attendees gain a good understanding of the Schema Therapy model and provide a platform for learning skills and techniques used in Schema Therapy. The workshop will address both the schema and mode models. It will provide significant role-play and experiential practice. The training will also focus on Borderline Personality Disorder and its treatment.
Workshop 2: (3 days)
Schema Therapy - Beyond the Basics & Working with Complex Presentations including BPD and NPD
This workshop will assist those with some background in Schema Therapy in developing and fine-tuning their skills. This workshop will also specifically look at the implementation of treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder as well as Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Clients will have extensive opportunity to practice experiential exercises such as imagery and chair-work. In addition, commonly experienced difficulties such as working with the detached protector and parent modes will be addressed.
